Are you trying to find cheap flights? If yes, you should pay attention to some important details. For example, look at the cheap and expensive details below!
The Airport and Airline You Choose
If you have more than one local airport in your area, you should consider looking at an alternative airport than your initial choice. Depending on high or low availability, you might find a ticket to be cheaper at a different airport. Likewise, you also need to think about the airline you are flying with. Some airlines are known for having cheaper rates while other airlines may be happy to charge you extra cash for the same flight.
Layovers and Non-Stop Flights
A lot of people don’t like having to wait at an airport during a layover or switch planes for a flight that has multiple stops. There are flights that give you the option of avoiding these hassles by offering non-stop options and flights that have no delays. However, you can expect to pay more for these comforts. Bite the bullet and hang out at the airport for one or more stops (unless it’s Kuwait airport!). You might not get to your destination as quickly but what’s a couple hours when you can save money?
Holidays and Seasons
Depending on when you travel, you can get good discounts or crazy prices. You can expect to pay more around the holidays. However, did you know you can save by flying on the day of the holiday? This might not work for a three-day weekend but it’s still possible. You also have to consider the season. Are you going somewhere known for its skiing resorts during the winter season? You most likely will be paying more if so.
Day of the Week
Depending on the day you book your flight, you can get expensive or cheap flights. Normally, airports are not so busy on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and sometimes Saturdays. Busy days are typically on Fridays and Sundays while other days of the week can be mildly packed. Obviously, busier days are going to have higher rates. Airports are more likely going to offer deals on days where there is not as much traffic flow.
Your seat arrangement can also determine how much money you do or don’t pay. No one wants to sit in the middle seat and some airlines are taking advantage of this by adding additional fees for window and aisle seats. Also, are you flying in coach, economy, or first class? Higher comforts equal a higher price. You may also get charged less for choosing a seat closer to the back of the plane. Everyone wants to board on and off first which usually isn’t possible when you have a seat further back.
